With rising sea levels around the coast of Britain combined with an increased frequency of severe weather events and associated tidal surges, the issues of climate change and coastal erosion and management is at the forefront of our thinking.  This is exemplified along the Dorset and Devon coasts at locations such as Lyme Regis where properties such as Derek’s are at risk of collapsing into the sea.  These are also places where difficult and often controversial decisions have to be made about how the coast should be managed in the future.  This film serves as an excellent introduction to the issue at a very personal level – what exactly is Derek to do if his home is not saved?
